Government Is The Reason Why We're So Stupid - Lydia Forson

Award winning Actress Lydia Forson, known for her boldness, her outspokenness and expressing her opinions on national issues has once again spoken.

The “Letter to Adams” Actress has written yet another open letter To Whom It May Concern about the poor drainage system, gross indiscipline attitude of the citizenry and the general causes of the unending floods in the capital city.

The 2010 African Movie Academy Award Best Actress in a Lead Role, winner is obviously disgruntled about the tangential rains and gas explosion which occurred in Accra on Wednesday June 3, 2015 and claimed over 100 human lives.

In an indirect and sarcastic message she posted on her Facebook page on Thursday June 4, Lydia thinks blaming every national misfortune and tragedy on government is not the way to go and may not necessarily solve the problems.

Lydia believes most of the blame should be put on us as a people because it is human inactivity and activities which causes flood and not the government.

Well, simply put government has a lot of explaining to do.

Ah now I know who to attack..

I have an idea...

Since we're blaming government for everything why not just blame it for our stupidity too.

Surely we're allowed aren't we?

well, if she cares to know we are the ones who make up the government. That makes her technically part of the government.

We cant always blame the government for everything. Although they will carry a heavy chunk of the blames for the poor planning of our settlements, we need to look to ourselves and see the roles we play towards the disasters we cause to ourselves.

Lydia is a bold woman, but unless this message is "coded" i will have to disagree with her on this.

Certainly we all as Ghanaians have our roles to play in order to prevent such a disaster from ever occurring again... It is certainly the duty of the Government to relocate people whose houses happen to be in water ways... many parts of Ghana have very serious gutter problems where most of these water outlets or gutter have been heavily choked but yet no effective effort is done whatsoever to clean them..

This massive flooding that has hit the country and claimed so many lives coupled with the gas filling station explosion is really serious and needs more than words to help prevent further destruction.... Well the Government has it own share of the blame but we all take most of the blame as we continue to suffer the consequences...

Those in charge of settlement might one way or the other not done have their job well... I don't blame people for blaming the government since the people have gone through so much already due their poor management... Now is the time the Government acts as quick as possible in order to prevent any far worse situation since the rains have only just started....
