Thief Falls Asleep In Pastor’s Room During Robbery

A suspected robber has been arrested by the Police in Asamankese in the Eastern region after he was caught sleeping in the bedroom of an SDA Pastor.

The 27-year-old suspect, was found half naked and deeply asleep on the bed of Pastor Asare Nyarko having broken into the room through the ceiling to steal properties of the Pastor. Narrating the incident to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah, Mr. Nyarko explained that, the incident occurred Sunday morning after he and his family had left for Church.

According to him, upon their return home, they realized all the outside lights in the house had been put off. They also noticed someone had forcefully entered the house and quickly rushed to the Police Station to lodge a report.

The Police, however, failed to escort the couple home but advised them to take pictures of the burglar for evidence. Pastor Asare mentioned that upon a careful entry to their room with some Elders of the Church, they found the suspect deeply asleep in their bedroom. "When we got closer we realized that the bulb that was in the corridor had been removed and the meter had also been closed, that told us that someone had entered the house.

“So we entered the house with caution, looked at the rooms - the first two were intact - so my wife was going to our bedroom and she saw somebody in our room. So all the Elders with myself opened the door and this guy was fast asleep on my bed and not even the noise the seven of us made woke him up.

“We had to shake him before he woke up so [we arrested him] and sent him to the police station." The suspect had apparently returned to the house after a successful first operation but unfortunately slept off during his second attempt.

The suspect, during interrogation told the Police that after the first entry when he took away some properties, he went to smoke marijuana to gain energy to climb through the ceiling but was dazed and fell asleep in the process.

I just can't stop laughing. In fact...I laugh enter Saddam Husein en tunnel inside. This thief paa. Wonders indeed never end.

And the police too, I'm very disappointed in their action. What if this were a life-threatening situation? They should sit up!

HAHAHA... This is just like a comedy movie... What a joke of a thief!!! You have already made yourself wanted after a first operation and upon the second, you slept on duty after taking something which was supposed to make you strong for operation.. Incredible!!!

Coming to think of it, i think whoever gave him that drug might have had the intention to get him caught hence gave him something to daze him... Other than that, i cant really make any sense out this, lol...

Anyway everyday for the thief, one day for the master... First operation was successful but he didnt know he was going to be successfully caught by the master with no hustle.. Kumawood should make something out of this, am sure it will be a hit... What a joke!!!

Okromfo ada pt 1&2. I guess it shouldn't take too long to make it to our screens. It's interesting the route he chose. By entering through the ceiling it would have been almost impossible to prevent subsequent attempts. But luck eluded him this time...hahah.. okyena nso bio

Hmmm asem paa nie!!!! One thing i cant tune my mind around is the fact that he slept on the bed and relaxed to that extend..... Whatever drug he took that day could have been the reason.

Am also disappointed with the way the police handled the situation sending couple back to their home without police escort, and instructing to take a picture of the thief who could dangerous if not the fact that he was apprehended in his deep sleep, what if he was having a gun? Hmmmm Ghana Police Service

I think God interceded on the Pastor's behalf, the thief's cup was fool, i guess it's a miracle.

It really does take a miracle for a very determined thief to sleep on duty, one that is so determined that he went to the extent of entering the room through the ceiling....

But Ghana Police paaa di3r!! Hmm.. To tell the couple to return to the crime scene without any sort of escort like @Admin said demonstrates the extent to which our police service is ineffective...

I mean what if the thief was heavily armed which could have resulted into something more serious if not for that Miraculous intervention...

I think the police should be up and doing and not sit there waiting for some specific cases to attend to.. Shame on the part of the police to have altered such words to the couple.... Only waiting for something really bad to happen before they react when its already too late...

I totally agree with you on that. It's one thing for the robbery to take place. But the police....hmmmm....ɛyɛ asɛm oo.
