NOTE: You will need a little credit to get this tutorial working.You will be charge gh 1.50 only
1. Dial *138*1*4# on your mobile device or on your MTN modem USSD then select 1 and another 1 to confirm purchase.
2. You will have to change the network  type of your device from 3g to 2g to avoid deduction.
Below are the steps to change the network  type of your device :

MODEM FOR PC

MOBILE PARTNER
1. Select Tools on the Menu bar.
2. Drop down and select Options.
3. Click on Network
4. Under Network type choose GSM only
5. Then use All Bands, Apply

MTN POCKET MODEM
1. Select setup on the MTN Pocket Internet
2. Select Network
3. Under Options drop down and select GSM only


Android Platforms
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on Wireless and Networks
3. Select Mobile Networks
4. Select 2G or GSM Only option

Blackberry Phones.
1. Go to Settings
2. Then Network and Connections
3. Select Mobile Networks
4. Then select 2G


Windows Phones.
1. Go to Settings
2. Mobile Networks
3. Drop down the Highest Connection Speed Menu
4. Select the 2G option

Note:  It is a bit slow so boost the speed with Any Vpn.  Good luck

@Whiplash can you trow more light when you say it worked fine while the 2G package was still active.
where you able to use more than the 300MB because of the 2G package on 3G network or.....?
