Bankswitch saga: Hanna Tetteh should be prosecuted

A whistleblower in the Bankswitch case is calling for the prosecution of Foreign Minister, Hanna Tetteh for the abrogation of contract awarded to Destination Inspection Companies (DICs).

According to Kudzu Akpabey, the then trade and industry minister’s conducts has caused financial loss to the state.

“The one who caused the judgement debt is a candidate for prosecution...,” he stressed.

He made the call while discussing a request on DICs to help government pay-up judgement debt to Bankswitch.

Trade Minister, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah in his bid to prevent further costs wrote to the companies to help government pay the debt in exchange for contracts – a position described by many including the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as bribery.

But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Monday, Mr. Akpabey who has firsthand information about the Bankswitch transaction wondered why the former trade minister who caused the liability is walking scot-free.

“So anybody can become a minister in this country and do anything he or she likes,” he quizzed.

Mr. Akpabey charged government to as a matter of urgency begin to prosecute all those found culpable in the Bankswitch case.

hmm i dont know what to say mpo.case here and there always in Ghana.this is really not good how can they exchange government debt with contract which doesnt even reduce debts.prosecution must be ensured and the truth must prevail.

Well.. I guess that's the order of the day now... Whiles People in so called low places kill themselves to make an ends meet for family and survival, these ministers who sit at high places of authority do whatever they want and go scot-free in the end.... Now you are telling us Someone should be prosecuted when you are no different from the rest....

It doesn't matter whether someone had to abolish that contract awarded to the DICs which was meant to reduce judgement debt which in turn caused financial loss to the state... In the first place how did this 'Dept' come about if not for the looting of money from the country's coffers by this same ministers... Only God knows how... One way or the other they are all guilty and should be prosecuted by the Law....

talking of how the debt came about in the first place nobody knows as well unless these same so called misters and if the only thing to do is to prosecute them then nothing should stop them from doing so.what needs to be done must be done and that's all....
