The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Alhassan is expected to attend an all-night service organised by the Accra Regional Police Command.
The Police administration instituted the regular prayer services because a number of Police officers have lost their lives in the line of duty in 2015. The service which is being held under the auspices of the Accra Regional Police Command will feature renowned evangelist, Dr. Lawerence Tetteh.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer at the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Effia Tenge said the all-night is also to thank God for his mercies.
“We can recall that at the beginning of the year we recorded some unfortunate incidences where we had some of our dedicated officers losing their lives in the line of duty. So we decided to begin some spiritual exercises by the way of praying. So out of that we began having weekly prayer services and we are thanking God for protecting us,” she said.
ASP Tenge invited the public to participate in the spiritual event “and join the Police as we worship our Maker and thank Him for how he has brought us and also ask for His divine protection”.
