In this week's poem, the writer
Allow me to tell you a story
A story of a king…
He lived with celestial beings
Words could not describe the beauty of his kingdom
He reigned with his father
Yet he and the father are one
Father, Son, Holy Spirit
He was there at the beginning of time
Nothing was created without him
They called him ancient of days
Because he is weighty with years
The same yesterday, today and forever
He was introduced as light at the beginning of creation
So darkness could not comprehend him
There was a call in his kingdom
The hearts of his creation had turned dark
Then the king knew the serpent had crept it way into their lives
The serpent had deceived his people into condemnation
The king looked down with love
One must wash away the sins of mankind
The father sent his only begotten son
To restore the creature to the creator
A heavenly king
Arrives as a baby king
As a nobody
Just flesh and blood
Born in a manger and an unknown city
He was not accepted by his own people
He grew in stature and wisdom
At the age of twelve
He was found at the temple explaining the scriptures
The scribes could not comprehend the height of his knowledge
The mathematicians could not formulate an equation
To explain the depth of his intellect
The scientist could not define him
As he broke all scientific rules by walking on water
To the baker
He is the bread of life
To the carpenter
He is the door
To the astronomer
He is the bright morning star
To the farmer
He is the mustard seed
To the Electrician
He is the light of the world
To the Shepherd
He is the lamb that took away the sin of mankind
To the military
All principalities, power and rulers of darkness
All fall under his feet
And to the preacher
He is the savior
Words could not describe him
Even though he wrote no books
There is no one on earth
That has had so many books written for him
Musicians cannot stop composing songs for him
And writers and poets just cannot stop writing about him
Yet the king humbled himself
And came from his majestic throne and became a servant
He was treated harshly by his own creature
They thought he was feeble
But the love in his eyes was stronger than his wrath
He wanted his children back
He came to their land dressed like them
He wrapped himself inside their curse
Unimpressive, poor and young
They saw a man
A carpenter’s son
But that man was also their king
He wrapped himself in their curse
Though they saw him as nothing
They were his precious jewels
He was brutalized, humiliated and treated like a nobody
The king was hanged on a tree like a bandit
His own disciple sold him for a sack of coins
Yet he did not give up on them
So he journeyed the path of death
And on the third day death could not hold him back
Then his own people realized that he is king indeed
The king was raised up to his kingdom
Defeated the devil for his people
Seated at the right hand side of his father
Interceding on their behalf
He is full of love that he couldn’t die
He is raised high
So if you can believe in this king
And confess him Lord over your life
You will be SAVED!!!
