Netflix users in one country have been able to get access to a better range of content by using a proxy or VPN for a while now. Although Netflix is currently trying to fight this practice in order to appease copyright holders, the users are still able to get the better range, and we can tell you how: through the service dubbed “unofficial Netflix online Global Search”.

The popular streaming service Netflix has recently announced its expansion into 130 more countries. Earlier, potential customers outside the US have had to wait for the service to officially launch in their homeland to become a customer. Or to pretend being from the US and enjoy Netflix just like any American – becoming a paying customer, of course. In other words, before Netflix finally launched in Australia, Australians have been able to view the movies and TV shows using a VPN. This was also true for users with limited local libraries.

After launching in almost every country in the world, Netflix announced a crack down on these content-tourists, but let’s find out what those who can still beat the system are enjoying. uNoGS, or “unofficial Netflix online Global Search” is a searchable database showing users which content is available on Netflix in any given area in the world. After finding out in what countries the content you look for is available, you can use VPN to switch countries and view it. Moreover, uNoGS also provides details on which VPN, proxy or DNS providers can provide access on a movie-by-movie basis. The service also displays the available language. Overall, uNoGS indexes content available on Netflix in 243 territories and updates the information on a daily basis.
