According to sources in Italy, terms have been agreed between Andre Ayew and AS Roma and is only an official announcement away from being confirmed as a Giallorossi player.

The Corriere dello Sport expects a club statement to confirm the player’s acquisition imminently, with a €2.5 million salary being agreed with the player. Ayew can expect bonuses on top of this basic starting fee, which he is yet to sign formally.

The Italian source reports that Abedi Pele agreed terms with the club several weeks ago, with the Black Star expected to sign a three-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico.

The news will come as a blow to the player’s various other suitors, with Roma’s Serie A rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan believed to be interested in the Olympique de Marseille midfielder.

Although Ayew’s departure from OM has been expected for some months, the player’s exit was only confirmed in the final week of the season, when both he and club president Vincent Labrune acknowledged that the club were not in a position to offer the Ghanaian a contract deemed adequate.

It had been expected that the Black Star would opt for the Premier League.

The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Swansea City had been linked to the player—who had confirmed that he was open to playing for any of the side’s in England’s top 10. However, Liverpool had emerged as favourites for the player’s signature, with Ayew having admitted that he was a big fan of the Anfield outfit.

Ayew also noted that Steven Gerrard was his favourite player.

However, despite confirming that he would not only be open to moving to a club in the Champions League, the OM hero may well have been swayed to move to Rome following the capital club’s confirmation that they will be competing in Europe’s premier continental competition next season.

Similarly, Ayew may well be tempted to move to Italy due to the proliferation of Ghanaian stars already competing in Serie A.

Beyond Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah, who recently won a second Italian title with the Bianconeri, the likes of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Afriyie Acquah, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Alfred Duncan all featuring in the Italian top flight.

Similarly, the presence of French coach Rudi Garcia may also have tempted Francophone Ayew to the Stadio Olimpico.

is a right choice because when he decides to sign for one these clubs that are known to be the biggest,he mihgt not perform in the sense that, all eyes are on you and you need to score if not frequently,it should be most at times.that is why messi is always scoring demanding passes.they need to score in order to redeem their image all the time.so big man, i think is a big move too.
