Stop that, Bayern! Messi, Suarez & Neymar give Guardiola a headache Lionel-messi-dani-alves-marc-bartra-barcelona-getafe-liga-bbva-04282015_1lm8xij2lx33j17c6y5wd1chw2

It was a masterclass of attacking football. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez scored five between them - all stunning - and made it 102 goals for the season for Barcelona's famed forward line.

Pep Guardiola wasn't watching. The Bayern Munich boss was taking charge of his side's German Klassiker clash against Borussia Dortmund, but he will no doubt catch the action later on. And when he does, he is likely to be a worried man, particularly after his winger Arjen Robben suffered an injury on his comeback.

Guardiola coached the greatest Barca team in history, the wonderful side that wowed the world between 2008 and 2012, winning 14 out of 19 trophies and playing some of the finest football ever seen. But he never had a forward line like this one.

Messi opened the scoring against Getafe with his first-ever Panenka penalty, dinking the ball down the middle with a cheeky chip. The Argentine attacker then centred for Suarez to volley home in spectacular style, before both combined for Neymar - who cut the ball back beautifully - to net the third

Xavi and Suarez then scored cracking curlers to put Barca five ahead at the break and Messi added a stunning sixth just two minutes into the second period as he chipped goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from an angle.

It was spectacular stuff and in scoring those five between them, Barca's 'MSN' trident made it 102 goals for the season, eclipsing the 98 netted by Leo, David Villa and Pedro in 2010-11 - and the 99 converted by the Argentine alongside Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry in 2008-09, Guardiola's first season in charge.

"I have never set objectives for the players," Luis Enrique said afterwards. "The number of goals they score also depends on the team. I saw how they looked in training and I didn't feel the need to rotate them. But playing this efficiently, they are unstoppable. I don't remember a match with so many spectacular goals."

Guardiola, meanwhile, recently returned to Camp Nou to watch Barca in action and is up against his former club in the semi-finals of the Champions League, starting with next Wednesday's first-leg clash in the Catalan capital.

And with the Bundesliga title wrapped up at the weekend, he will now be fully focused on one thing: how to stop Messi, Neymar and Suarez in full flow.

Messi's double against Getafe takes him to 49 goals from his 49 games in 2014-15, while Neymar is on 32 in 43 and Suarez has now netted 21 from his 37 appearances. The three forwards also scored and assisted for the first time in a match all together on Wednesday.

In midfield, Guardiola's former team-mate and playmaker extraordinaire Xavi was also back to his brilliant best, showing he still has a significant role to play at the Catalan club in the remainder of the current campaign - and possibly in 2015-16 as well. Xavi will be 36 next January, but with the pertinent time to rest and recuperate between games like he has had this season, he remains as special as ever - a timeless classic.

With Robben probably sidelined again and the whole Bayern team in cotton wool following a horrendous injury crisis at the Allianz Arena in recent times, Guardiola needs to devise an ingenious plan to stop Barca's fantastic forwards in the two semi-final games next month. It is easier said than done.
