According to The Express Lionel Messi would 'consider' a move to Chelsea in the summer following cash disputes with Barcelona.


Messi could cost as much as £200m to prise away from the Nou Camp but Chelsea's sponsor Adidas are thought to be keen to help finance any possible deal.


And Cesc Fabregas has urged his new club to sign his former team-mate.


"I wish! Why not? I'd love that to happen," he said.

Hahaha then keep hoping cos the president of barca has made it clear that he is going in agreement with messi if he brings any offer concerning his weekly wages so that he will remain in the team.

hahaha.....As a CHELSEA fan i would luv that to happen but i can't see that happening either..... BUT hey, anything can happen in futbal... It won't surprise me though... BUT MESSI would be a GREAT perhaps the GREATEST addition CHELSEA has ever made to the team... We live to see...

Mourinho: Chelsea can't buy Messi because of FFP



The Blues last month announced a record profit of £18.4 million and appear well on course to comply with FFP, but the Argentine's £205m release clause remains out of reach.

Jose Mourinho admits he has "no chance" of signing Lionel Messi for Chelsea because of Uefa's Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The Blues last month announced a record £18.4 million profit for the year ending June 2014, driven by increased revenues and shrewd player trading, and appear well on course to comply with FFP.

But Mourinho insists the break-even regulations mean there is no way of bringing four-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, who has a £205m release clause in his Barcelona contract, to Stamford Bridge in the near future.

"No I have no chance of that," the Portuguese said in a BT Sport special to be broadcast on Christmas Day.

"Because at this moment there is financial fair play and with the financial fair play we have to follow certain rules, certain numbers and we obviously have no conditions to buy, as you say a ‘super amazing player’ paid with ‘super amazing numbers’. At Chelsea at this moment we cannot do [it]."

Back in November Messi hinted for the first time that he might one day have to leave Barcelona, while Cesc Fabregas this week admitted he would love to play alongside the Argentine superstar again.

So if this report is true from Mourinho, i dont see chelsea buying MESSI....

I know but Chelsea has lots of players warming the bench and they can be sold for more money to finance the purchase. players warming the bench include,
Schurle, Ramires, Zuma, Luis, Remy, Czech, Salah, Mikel, and many more

If messi is leaving barca, it will either be manchester city or bayern he will be heading to... I dont think mourinho will be needing messi for now cos he got the best squad this season who has change their style of play and bugg upps to him.

Yeah...Yesterday, he lost heavily to spurs.. So much for the best squad this season...I still think anything can happen in the summer...

Yep, it was a big disappointment to Chelsea after so much hype been giving to the team. I have a feeling they will make a signing this  January but is not  likely to be Messi.

It going to be hard for Bacelona to sell Messi in of the middle of the season. Don't forget Real Madrid are leading the the Spanish league now.

Yeah ... I agree with you... i think Chelsea would try to bring in Marcos Reus from B. Dortmond to fill the right side of the pitch since both shcurlle and Willian have been inconsistent to me.. That's my opinion ...

But for Messi, Mourinho has even said that they cant buy him since it would lead to going against the FIFA Financial Fair Play... Maybe, unless Chelsea sells some players in order to balance the F.F.P rules.

BUT as i said anything can happen in football..I have even read a news that Abramovic wants to bring Messi to Chelsea, that is, if Barcelona does not win any silverware this season...Lets wait and see but as a Chelsea fan, i really want that to happen...SERIOUSLY....Cant wait

I can almost feel your sentiment wanting Chelsea to buy Messi. As a Chelsea fan myself, i think is highly unlikely to get Messi, however like you said we have seen a lot of surprises when it comes to January transfer windows. We shall see

But yet again, i hope Chelsea wont go into the market and just sign any player who come in and not have any impact on the team as we have seen in recent years where the player ends up been sold for less or released...

Like you said, For Messi, it's unlikely we can sign him this January but maybe in the summer..It would be really fantastic to see him play along Fabs, Hazard and the rest....We shall see though..
