Charter House & Co don’t value Kumasi- based artistes Ch10
Gospel star, Anita Afriyie has claimed that, Kumasi based artistes are always marginalized when it comes to major music awards, particularly the Vodafone Ghana Music Award's (VGMA).

“When you are based in Kumasi, you are not considered even when your song is a big hit; unless you live in Accra. But you know, we all cannot come and reside in Accra,” the Adehye Mogya hit singer lamented.

The gospel star, who was speaking on Atinka FM’s mid-morning show , “Edwumaoo” hosted by Roman Fadda on Thursday, said a public awards programme like the VGMA should be accommodating to all no matter where you come from.

Madam Afriyie was expressing her displeasure with the fact that, Charter House only gave her two VGMA nominations even though her hit song, 'Adhye Mogya' and other songs on her current Album enjoyed massive airplays as well as sales in the year 2014.

Anita Afriyie has been nominated for the Gospel Song of the Year as well as Gospel Artiste of the Year but the confident artiste believes she deserves more than two awards and wondered what kind of research organizers of the award based their selection on .

“Some artistes have more than four awards even though their songs are nowhere close to my hit song, “Adehye Mogya,” she charged .

She also believes that, she should have been in the Most Popular Song of the Year category because her hit song, “Adehye Mogya” was among the most popular songs in 2014.

Her husband, Mr Afriyie who was also on the programme, backed his wife saying, she deserves about five VGMA nominations. He made an interesting claim that, his wife’s “Adehye Mogya” hit song is a very popular song and it is only second to Daady  Lumba’s “yentie Obiaa” on the charts.
