Can you solve this riddle?

One night, a man receives a call from the Police. The Police tell the man that his wife was murdered, and that he should reach the crime scene as soon as possible. The man drops the phone, shocked, and drives 20 minutes to the crime scene. As soon as he reaches the crime scene, the police arrest him, and he is convicted of murder. How did the police know that he committed the crime?

Well, i think if the police did not tell him where the crime scene was, but he was able to locate and drive there in 20minutes. that will show he is complacent in the murder simply because he is not suppose to know where the wife was murdered.

i have been guessing what the answer would be but couldnt get any answer that suits the riddle, i think you are making sense

But isn't it normal for a wife to tell her husband where ever she's going ?
The man can argue that the wife told him where she was going before going out

@dagobert, how would the husband know whether she was murderd @ the place she went or on the road.. If the husband drove directly to the crime scene, that means he has a hand it.

The place we talking about is a crime scene, this means the exact spot she died, the crime scene could be anywhere, thats where the man drove to.

Yeah I agree. But a crime seen can be anywhere. Let's assume that the lady said she was visiting a friend (Dagoberta). If the police only informed him of the death but didn't give details, the first thing that would logically come to his mind is Dagoberta's house which is the crime scene. Coincidence??
