The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has declared an indefinite strike. According to UTAG, the decision to strike was necessitated by what they consider as government’s deliberate attempt to unduly delay the payment of their 2013/2014 book and research allowance. How long should students continue to suffer from these strike actions? Today # POTAG, tomorrow,# UTC , the next day # UTAG. Why should it always be at a time that students suffer most?

As a student, what do you think is the cause of these strike actions and what in your view, is the way forward? HAVE YOUR SAY in the comment box below.

@kruger. the thing is that the lecturers only have a contract with the government and not students. As such they have every right to demand what is due them. It is rather unfortunate that students are caught in the middle of all this mess. I think it is up to the student leadership (NUGS, SRCs etc) to impress on the government the need for to fulifil their end of the deal. A nationwide demo won't be a bad idea to start with.

That's what happens when a few people at the "top" decide to have as their own what is meant for the lot.

I can agree on every point you made, but governance by our presidents, chiefs, ministers, always putting themselves first instead of the people who pay for everything in this country ,this is exactly that happened in other country's and they ended up getting into civil wars, this is our past history in Africa and presently in Tunisia , Egypt and Gadafi and his oil

How can America have only 33 ministers why Ghana 86 ministers?  not sure not sure :ko it makes no sense at all

*The protestors are justified for their ACTIONS
