A report on lifehacker states that these are old passwords, unless you havent changed yours since...... And that they may not necessarily be ones hacked from gmail, but rather from other websites. However, because most people use the same pass across multiple sites, these passwords might work. It is recommended to changed your password to a stronger one and use two-step verification (ie. Password and code sent via sms)

I agree with you @Proximity. The problem however seems to be the difficulty in remembering different passwords used on various sites. People would easily forget them, hence the use of password managers. But those too come with their own risks.

I think mostly is hard to guess password that has caps letter, Small letters and numbers mixed, it makes it more stronger to be detected by any password hack software.
