American singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, and actress, Lauryn Hill will be performing in Accra this December in a concert that promises to be worth writing home about.
Ms. Hill will be in Ghana for the second edition of the Afrobeat Big Weekend Festival, together with Ghanaian home-grown talents and Nigerian artistes, says an official statement from multi-purpose entertainment company, BBnZ, organisers of the event.
The maiden edition of the concert was held last year in December and had performances from the likes of Samini, Shatta Wale, Efya, Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy, Joey B, C-Real, Kaakie and Nigeria’s very own, Ice Prince.
This year’s Afrobeat Big Weekend Festival will take place from the 12th to the 14th of December at the Independence Square.
On Friday, December 12, there will be a Hip-hop-teamed concert, followed by an actual Afrobeat party on Saturday, and on Sunday, a mellowed-down Acoustic event will take place.
Sunday’s Acoustic set will be headlined by none other than the incomparable Lauryn Hill.
Accra Breweries Limited (ABL) is the official beverage sponsor of the Afrobeat Big Weekend Festival 2014.
