It is very simple process to Password protect word document. This tutorial gives you how to Password protect word document in all versions of MS word. MS word has inbuilt feature to protect word document. All versions of MS word has password protection feature.
File -> Prepare -> Encrypt document. You will see “Encrypt Document” window with password shows that in above procedure. Just delete password and click OK. Save the document. Now your document will not ask password.
Tools -> Options -> Security -> Enter password and save the document.
Follow the same procedure to remove password. After clicking on “Encrypt with password” you will see password in the box. Just delete password and save. Now document will not have password.

Password protect word document in MS word 2007
Open document.- Click on “File” option in top left corner shows that in above screenshot..
- Click “Prepare”.
- Click “Encrypt document”. You will see a small window where you can enter password shows that in below screenshot.
- Enter password and click OK.
- Re enter password and click “OK”.
- Save the document. Now you have protected your document with password. If you open document, it will ask you to enter password shows that in below screenshot.
