WhatsApp finally launches on the Web

It seems the day many people have been waiting for is finally here – WhatsApp is now available on your desktop, but only if you’re an Android, Windows Phone or BlackBerry user.

WhatsApp, the popular chat app, now has a web version, though you'll still need your phone to connect to it.



The new web client basically mirrors the app on your phone onto the web site. To use it, you need to head to the WhatsApp web page, scan a QR code with the WhatsApp mobile app, then get to typing your messages from there. Right now, the web app's only compatible with Google Chrome in combination with the Android, Windows Phone, or Blackberry version of the mobile app. iOS compatibility isn't on the way for now


How to use Official WhatsApp for Web.

1. Ensure you have active internet on your phone and PC
2. Ensure you have the latest version of Whatsapp (Visit the Playstore just to be sure)
2. Visit: web.whatsapp.com from a Google Chrome Browser.
3. Go to the menu in the Whatsapp app on your android phone and select "WhatsApp Web"
4. Scan the barcode displayed on the browser with your phone.
5. Enjoy WHATSAPP FOR WEB.

Some people dnt understand this..YES whatsapp was on the desktop but you could not use the same number on your phone and at the same time on the desktop or laptop but now u can use same number on both desktop and on your phone at the same time...lets get it straight!!

i can't find whatsapp web in my menu, can you please be specific on where to find it?

this is amazing. Im usiing it and its wow. you should all try it. if you cant find whatsapp web on your phone, try updating whatsapp on your phone. what ever i do on the web reflects on my phone. i dont need to be with my phone to send a message

yh it is really cool. Just have to make sure you have the latest version of Google chrome on your PC and whatsapp on your phone....and you good to go....

and make sure u are also having an active internet connections on your phone cause when your phone data goes off you whatsappweb will not also work.

Thanks very much for the clarification i was a little confused as to how to use it wondering how am i going to register using chrome.
I want to believe there is a partnership between Whatsapp and google. why only Chrome?

Yes i ask myself the same question "why only Chrome?", why not make a windows and mac version of the Whatsapp messengers, that way it will easier to install and use just like the Yahoo, Skype and other messengers.. instead of always using third party application like bluestack or Chrome Os before you can use Whatsapp for Pc...

But on the Chrome Os, its just simple installation.... Whatapp belongs to Facebook and Chrome Os belongs to Google, and since Android Os its for Google Which was the OS whatapp successfully run on.. We can all see the resemblance of the Chrome OS and the Android OS. We can also see the trend and read between the line.

It was very easy installing it on my junior sisters Chrome book, it even have a desktop shortcut as well.... good news for Chrome OS users because they can install it directly without using chrome browser unlike other windows and mac users... We have heard little from Google when it comes to the Chrome Os, but i think all these little developments are telling us what to expect from Google Chrome OS.

Users with unofficial versions of WhatsApp like WhatsApp+ and co either have to uninstall and install the official version from google play, or wait a little longer. This feature is only available for the official WhatsApp from google play...at least for now.

ok guys have u head of the call i heard they are going to introduce some call features in whatsapp

yea there is a call features in whatsapp but it will be charge on your credit not your MB

i didn't know there is a call feature in whatsapp messenger..... is it in the latest version, or?

there is but you need to update your old whatsapp to the latest one or uninstall it then re-download a new one from play-store and install it again to enjoy the new feature
